Making the Case for Life - Mitigation and Jury Selection in Capital Cases

Join the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and the Southern Center for Human Rights at the Charleston Marriott Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, September 30 – October 2, 2010, for the 13th Annual Making the Case for Life seminar.  The primary focus of the program is the investigation, development, and presentation of penalty phase mitigation evidence in capital cases.

Nationally recognized experts will address topics including neuropsychological evaluations, post-trial litigation, combating issues of future dangerousness, dealing with clients who profess to want to die, recent Supreme Court opinions concerning mitigation and the death penalty, constructing closing arguments, using demonstrative evidence and more. Faculty will also lead an in-depth discussion of the science of capital jury selection, and hands-on workshops on interviewing jurors and advanced investigation techniques.  This program has gotten great reviews from capital lawyers, mitigation specialists and investigators in past years.
