2024 Year in Review
As we reflect on 2024 and step into the promise of a new year, we are inspired by the timeless words of Sojourner Truth:
“I am the seed of the free, and I know it. I intend to bear great fruit.”
In these words, we find the essence of gratitude, optimism, and determination—the knowledge that we have within us what it takes to make real a vision of justice that benefits generations to come. At the Southern Center for Human Rights, we, too, intend to bear great fruit, working tirelessly to dismantle oppressive systems and nurture a more just future.
This year’s timeline is a testament to what we can achieve together. From advocating for better conditions in Fulton County Jail, to securing life-changing resentencing victories, to landmark legal victories and community-centered action, we have accomplished so much with your steadfast support.
As we move forward with optimism in our hearts and determination in our actions, we are grateful for your trust, partnership, and unwavering belief in the transformative power of justice. Together, we can meet the challenges ahead and achieve extraordinary things for the people and communities we serve.
