Sentinel Offender Services Settlement Notice

LEGAL NOTICE OF CLASS ACTION:

STACEY ADAMS, ET AL. V. SENTINEL OFFENDER SERVICES, LLC, ET AL., NO. 1:17-CV-02813 (N.D. GA.)

 

A settlement has been reached on behalf of many people who were placed on “pay-only” probation on or after July 1, 2015 by the Municipal Court of Atlanta and were charged and paid at least one enrollment fee of $20 and subsequent supervision fees of at least $81 for a single sentencing event (defined as a single sentencing order whether said order references multiple cases or imposes consecutive sentences). If you qualify, the settlement allows you to do one of the following:

 

Option 1: Recover a refund of money that you paid for probation supervision services as well as a damages payment. To do so, you must complete and submit a form following the steps outlined below.

Option 2: “Opt out” of the settlement and the Class by following the steps outlined below. If you opt out, you will not be entitled to a payment under this settlement, but you will retain your right to file your own lawsuit.

Option 3: Remain a member of the Class and exercise your right to object to the terms of the settlement. 

Option 4: Remain a member of the Class and exercise your right to enter an appearance or intervene. 

 

If you do nothing, you will not receive any payment under this settlement, and will lose any right you may have to bring your own claim for damages in the future.
