Honoring Stephen B. Bright
After 35 years of service to the Southern Center for Human Rights (SCHR) and all the people who are impacted by our work, Stephen B. Bright is retiring from SCHR to devote more time to teaching and writing at Yale, Georgetown, and Georgia State University Law Schools.
Steve’s work at SCHR has been nothing short of remarkable. His fiery and eloquent advocacy, intellectual prowess, and big heart have made him a powerful force for justice. Steve evokes the very best in each of us, personally reminding us of the importance of human dignity and of the essential obligations and aspirations of the law.
We are proud to pay tribute to Steve’s continuing legacy of fearless advocacy, relentless caring, and unfailing pursuit of equal justice.
