Alison Ganem
Alison Ganem joined the Impact Litigation Unit as a Staff Attorney in 2020. She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she worked on a capital case in the Death Penalty Clinic, won parole for a client through the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project, and interned at the Center for Death Penalty Litigation and the Southern Center for Human Rights. She began her legal career as a Law Fellow at the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), where she represented death-sentenced individuals in Alabama on direct appeal and in state post-conviction proceedings, worked with formerly-incarcerated clients to support their re-entry, and assisted with EJI’s narrative, consciousness-building, and public education work. Ali holds a B.A. from Stanford University and is a member of the Alabama bar.
