Andrea Simms joined the Southern Center for Human Rights as a Jesuit Volunteer Service Fellow. In May of 2020, Andrea graduated from Saint Louis University with a B.A. in English and Anthropology. Through her time as a student, Andrea’s academic and personal interests were focused on the systematic injustices affecting the unhoused community of St. Louis. After working in direct human services, Andrea is eager to explore the legal intersection of criminalized poverty in her work at the Southern Center.
