Angie Tacker

Angie Tacker came to the Southern Center for Human Rights in 2024 and serves at the Development Director. Prior to joining SCHR, Angie worked for 23 years at Atlanta Legal Aid Society, where she led development, marketing, and communications. Her work at Legal Aid helped the program double in both size and budget. She also developed a robust media advocacy program and placed hundreds of stories across local, national and international outlets, including The New York Times, CBS Mornings, the Washington Post, the Guardian, Rolling Stone, PBS, and NPR. Angie also trained civil legal aid fundraisers and communications staff through the National Legal Aid and Defender Association, the Management Information Exchange, and Voices for Civil Justice.

Angie hold BAs in both history and English from Agnes Scott College and an MA in history and an MPA in nonprofit management, both from Georgia State University.
