2023 San Francisco Benefit Reception

Please join the Southern Center for Human Rights for a benefit reception hosted by the family and friends of the late Susan Ten Kwan on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 6:00 PM PT at the offices of Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP in San Francisco, CA.

We are excited to return to San Francisco, where we will share updates on SCHR’s efforts to challenge unconstitutional and unconscionable practices within the criminal legal system in the Deep South. We will be joined by former President & Senior Counsel Stephen B. Bright to discuss his latest book, co-authored with James Kwak, The Fear of Too Much Justice.

In late June, California’s capital defense community lost a wonderful friend and mentor, Jeannie Sternberg. We will also take a moment to remember and celebrate her life and legacy.
