Max Atchison

Max Atchison is the First Amendment Fellow working within the Public Policy Unit to support the expansion and maintenance of protester representation infrastructure in Atlanta through the First Amendment Lawyer Bridge project. Max originally joined SCHR in March 2024 as a Bridge Fellow, sponsored by the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. He received his J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 2023.

Before law school, Max worked as a paralegal at the Law Offices of Cliff Gardner, working on criminal appeals and habeas petitions, many of which were capital cases. During law school, he interned with the New Mexico Innocence and Justice Project and partook in the Criminal Practice Clinic, where he provided direct representation to clients as a student practitioner at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office.
